Brief History of National Deaf Women's Bowling
Association
The National Deaf Women's Bowling Association
was established after the singles classic tournament in Colorado
Springs, Colorado in July, 1974. The National Deaf Bowling Association had been in existence for
10 years, when the women's group was acted on. The host had only classic
tournament and each year there were different sets of rules. The
purpose was to have officers and set up a constitution and
tournament by-laws for women bowlers in conjunction with the men's
NDWBA. The first officers were: President: Erlene Graybill,Shawnee,
Kansas; Vice President- Melba Desselle, Marksville, Louisiana and
Secretary-Treasurer - Nancy Buckmaster, Erwin, South
Dakota.
